Wicklow girls win with Leinster

Saturday, 10 October 2015 07:56

Saturday was a proud day for Wicklow RFC as four of our u18 girls were in the starting fifteen for the intepro decider between Leinster and Ulster. The Girls  pictured below ( Kayleigh Sullivan, Hannah Rose Buckley Ciara PAtrick and Rachel Griffey)in front of the newly commisioned Leinster team bus took off from Dublin to take on Ulster in Portadown RFC the match which was a real tussle resulted in the Leinster girls winning 21-14 to take the interpro title for a historic third year in a row. It was a great lift for the girls to be the first Leinster team to travel on the new bus and also to receive messages from Leinster and Ireland players such as Jamie Heaslip, Ian Madigan and Jordi Murphy. Well done to the four girls who did themselves their club and province proud. Elsewhere the u18 and u15 girls had an enjoyable visit to Westmanstown where both teams had good wins to set them up for the start of the League next week where they both compete in the premier league.
