Under 12's Annual Munster Tour

Wicklow Under 12’s departed for their annual tour of Munster on Friday 13th April. A squad of 36 players left Wicklow Rugby Club in high spirits along with 4 Coaches and many travelling supporters.
The first destination for the squad was Middleton RFC. In difficult wet conditions the Wicklow lads played some terrific rugby and secured victories in all 4 matches they played that evening.  In addition to winning all their matches, they managed to score an average of 7 tries per game, which was a great achievement considering the challenging weather conditions,
On Saturday Wicklow travelled to Highfield RFC. Again the boys did Wicklow proud and won all 4 games, playing some scintillating rugby against a very strong Highfield outfit. In total the Wicklow lads scored 33 tries in the 4 games, many of them sensational team efforts.
The final fixture of the tour was a prestigious match against the mighty Cork Constitution RFC, the first time Wicklow have had the honour of playing against this prestigious club. Again, the Under 12’s rose to the occasion and played some marvellous rugby in perfect conditions. 5 matches were played that morning, with Wicklow winning 2, drawing 1 and losing 2, a magnificent performance considering the strength of Cork Constitution.
Wicklow RFC are extremely proud of our Under 12 Team, It would be unfair to pick out any individual members of the squad because every single member played a huge role in making this such a successful tour. The camaraderie amongst this group was magnificent and we hope that all the players will retain fond memories and friendships for many years to come. There representation of Wicklow Rugby Club showed maturity beyond their years. Well done to all the Squad.
